Pictures Taken By Scott

I just returned from a vacation in Vietnam which included a few days in Da Nang. I was not familiar with Camp Horn when I was there but I took several photos of what I quickly realized were former US installations. In fact, the hotel I stayed in, the Golden Sea, was built on the south side of Pham Van Dong St, on land that was once part of Camp Horn. Maybe it's the ammo dump?

-Views from Plaine

-This one is looking SW out of my hotel room back towards Da Nang

- Han river

- Han river north

- Monkey Mt  N/E

- Monkey Mt north

-

- This one is looking directly east towards china beach. There's an access road there that runs just behind right behind the shore line and past Marble Mountain Marine Air Station

- monkey mt

- Looking out at the tarmac from my plane

- Looking dead on at the wall

- I'm much more confident about these photos. Hard to mistake hardened aircraft shelters

- I think this one was the best with the white guard tower. I really wish now I would

have taken the time to check things out closer to see if I could visit, but ah well

-  I wasn't able to get too close up because I didn't know how sensitive anyone was about people getting too close to these

- Again I was paranoid so I had my father stand near the edge of the terminal building as if I was taking his photo to get this one

- You can see the beach access road that I don't think was there during the war. China Beach was immediately behind me.

Also the Viet structures in red and yellow that were put up afterwards
